‘Outlander’ Season 2 Release Date & Cast Updates: Sam Heughan Hopes to Work with Jennifer Lawrence

"Outlander" Season 2 is nearing its return on TV, as the Starz time traveler series is set to premiere in April. In an interview, Sam Heughan shared his hopes to work with Jennifer Lawrence. Heughan and Caitriona Balfe also participated in a quick Q&A with fans.

"Outlander" Season 2 has finally cast fan-favorite character, Brianna Randall from Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber." While fans are debating over the actress who was chosen to play the role of Jamie and Claire's daughter, Sam Heughan shared with E! News his dream co-stars.

In the interview, the 35-year-old actor named a few actors, including Sean Connery. The Scottish actor then ended up admitting to wanting to work with Jennifer Lawrence in "Outlander."

"Maybe Jennifer Lawrence would be quite nice, that would be kind of fun," Heughan said.

While it would be nice to see "The Hunger Games" actress on the Starz series, Heughan and Caitriona Balfe recently sat down to answer several questions from "Outlander" fans, Carter Matt reported.

Heughan and Balfe were pretty thrilled to read some of the questions from fans of the hit Starz time traveler series, including details about the show's horses.

Heughan admitted that the horses seemed to be very close with Balfe because his "Outlander" co-star often feeds them with mints. Heughan also shared that he would like to cut his hair once the show is done filming and expressed his openness to have his hair cut the same as Kit Harington from "Game of Thrones."

Fans also wondered how he and Balfe managed to get through the weather in Scotland.

"You don't deal [with the weather], you endure," Balfe said.

Heughan also jokingly said that the weather in Scotland seemed to follow them in Los Angeles.

"In fact, coming to Los Angeles, you have the Scottish weather here so it seems to follow us around," he said. "It's raining here, terribly."

"Outlander" Season 2 premieres in April 2016 on Starz.
