Kate Middleton News & Update: Duchess' First TV Appearance Since Becoming Royal; What's Happening On The Queen's Birthday?

Kate Middleton became the one of the newest addition to the British family when she married the second line on the throne Prince William and, ever since then, the couple has become the epitome of royalty and grace.

Kate appeared on numerous TV interviews and public events during her engagement to Prince William. However, she stopped when they got married for the reason that the Duchess of Cambridge wants to keep her married life as private as she can.

Now, Kate has once again stepped into the limelight and appeared before an interview as a part of a documentary filmed for the Queen's birthday. The spot with Kate in the documentary marks her first appearance on TV in almost six years.

The last interview Kate ever gave was on Nov. 2010 for her engagement to Prince William and, since then, she has shied away from the cameras. Since the Queen's birthday is almost here, decidedly Kate wants in on a documentary for her grandmother-in-law. As a matter of fact, she will not be the only monarch to appear in the documentary since other royalties including Prince Harry, Prince Charles and many more public figures will appear in the film.

"We've been fortunate to have the participation of so many members of the royal family to mark this historic milestone in the life of the queen," Nick Kent, producer of the film said. The documentary film of the Queen will be released later this year.

Additionally, it is believed that, during the 90th birthday of the Queen, Kate will most likely be the one to take over the role of sports patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

"It's a remarkable story of an extraordinary life which in so many ways reflects the changing face of the nation," said Jo Clinton-Davis, ITV's controller of factual, who co-commissioned the film. "As she reaches her 90th birthday, this film aims to offer a fresh insight into our monarch's life and work."
