'Captain America: Civil War' Release Date, News & Update: Marvel Announces Twitter Contest for a Role in the Upcoming Infinity War

A brand new trailer for "Captain America: Civil War" starring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. aired just prior to kick-off in the Super Bowl 50. And Marvel has followed it up now with an even bigger promotion for Avengers: Infinity War.

This trailer became viral the moment it came out and fans got plenty of insight into whats in store. "Captain America: Civil War," the first movie for Marvel's Phase 3 will lead to the "Avengers: Infinity War" part 1 and 2.

Following this, Marvel also released a challenge for fans in the form of a hashtag contest. The Twitter promo involves custom Twitter emojis showcasing Team Cap and Team Iron Man.

Fans can participate in the contest after picking a side. That is in the battle between Iron Man vs. Cap America.

Ground rules are as below :

  • The participant must have a working public Twitter account and must be a US resident aged 18 or older.
  • The participant must tweet his/her own "Civil War team" using the Avengers emoji hashtags:
  • Along with the emoji hashtags, the tweet must also include either #TeamCapSweepstakes or #TeamIronManSweepstakes.
  • There can only be one tweet per person/Twitter account, so choose your team wisely. Using multiple accounts subjects the user to disqualification.

The Contest closes on February 14. Full details can be found on the official Marvel site.

The Grand Prize will be a fully-paid, four day/three night trip to Atlanta, Georgia to shoot a walk-on, non-speaking role in one of the Avengers: Infinity War entries, as well as a $500 gift card.

"Captain America: Civil War" will hit theaters on May 6, 2016. The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is slated for release on May 4, 2018 while The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 will be released on May 3, 2019.
