'Captain America: Civil War' Release Date, News & Update: Super Bowl Trailer Is A Great Hit

The Super Bowl trailer of the movie "Captain America: Civil War" proved to be a great hit on social media. According to a survey by comScore, the movie trailer dominated social-media volume on the day of the big game.

Disney's Super Bowl ad for "Captain America" was released on Sunday, during the pre-game show. The trailer is asking viewers to choose a side: #TeamIronMan or #TeamCap. Thanks to a common goal Tony Stark and Steve Rogers were able to work together before. However, in the new movie a conflict of visions appears between the two, dividing also the superheroes.

Variety reports that the "Captain America" TV spot generated 196,000 conversations on social media during and after Super Bowl 50. Among them around 95 percent were on Twitter alone. The rest of fans conversations were on Facebook.

As per ComicBook, the "Captain America: Civil War" Super Bowl trailer's volume of social media conversations topped last year's top films. "Furious 7" and "Jurassic World" generated both around 47,500 conversations during 2015 Super Bowl.

This year, the total of social media conversations generated by the "Captain America" Super Bowl trailer was a higher volume than the combination for the rest of the official movie spots. Among the other Super Bowl successful trailers on social media were "X-Men: Apocalypse" By Fox with 26,900 generated conversations, "Jason Bourne" by Universal with 19,700, "Jungle Book" by Disney with 18,400, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" by Paramount with 8,500, "Independence Day: Resurgence" by Fox with 4,300, "10 Cloverfield Lane" by Paramount with 2,700 and "Secret Life of Pets" by Universal with 1,800 conversations.

In "Captain America: Civil War," Chris Evans returns as Captain America and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. Additionally, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd and Paul Bettany are coming back to the franchise.
