'Tekken 7: Fated Retribution' Release Date, News & Update: 'Rage Attack' System Introduced By New Trailer

A new trailer for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" has been released by Bandai Namco. The trailer is introducing a new "Rage Attack" system in the fighting game. The effects and abilities in "Rage Attack" are based on the character.

Shack News reports Bandai Namco detailed some changes from previous games when discussing the update of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" arcade edition released last week in Japan. Among the improvements are included refinements to the Rage system. With the new "Rage Attack," characters can build Rage faster, getting a better chance to unleash powerful Rage Arts attacks.

The trailer is focusing on different elements of the Rage system. Fans of the game can discover details of Akuma's Super gauge, the way the Rage system works, as well as the move listings for each currently unveiled characters' Rage Attack, Rage Arts and Power Crush.

Rage Attacks are added as a new feature of the "Tekken 7" game. They amplify the standard specials, similar to Mortal Kombat's Enhanced moves and Street Fighter's EX moves. A particularity of Tekken's version of the Rage Attacks system is that the moves and abilities can only be used while in Rage mode. For this reason, Rage can be built faster with the new Rage Attack system.

According to the website Event Hubs, Rage Attack is a new mechanic with unique character based properties. For example, you can see in the trailer both Nina and Paul sending their opponents flying very far away, while one of the newcomers in "Tekken 7", Gigas, performs a ranged seismic attack that makes the ground underneath the opponent to damage them.

Akuma, while having both a Power Crush and a Rage Art, is the only character who does not have access to a Rage Attack. However, Akuma also has the unique Super Meter ability, divided into 2 segments.
