According to the Nonprofit Quarterly, a lot of people that the new regulations that require abortion clinics to widen their hallways; upgrade their air filtration systems and form special agreements with hospitals are unnecessary.

As a result, a recent campaign has been established and was named the Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers or TRAP which includes 27 states who passed such laws.

"This trend is very dramatic," said Elizabeth Nash, state issues manager at Guttmacher.

Reports have confirmed that Texas, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin have enacted new TRAP laws this summer but litigation has successful inhibit them from being enacted upon by other states.

On the other hand, some OB-GYN professionals are pushing hospitals to commit to more abortion care. Some hospitals and medical institutions are engaged in fundraising activities to ensure that access to abortion is not denied.

"Barriers are increasing, access is more difficult, and women are sometimes being forced to carry the pregnancy later than they would have," said Karen Law of the Hershey Abortion Assistance Fund.

"They did not have the $500 at seven or eight weeks and it just gets more expensive as they try to find other financial resources," she further stated.
