Checklist: Kristen Bell's Birth Doula Gives Advice What To Pack In The Hospital Bag

Celebrity birth doula Lori Bregman said pregnant women should start packing their stuff a month before their due date. Hence, they shouldn't wait for their first contraction before they start packing all the things they need. "The last thing you want is to be in labor and running around the house trying to figure out what you need," the life coach added to U.S. Weekly.

Thus, the author of "The Mindful Mom to Be" listed down all the essentials a mother should need during labor and birth.

Bregman said all of the basic things a pregnant woman should pack is a printed birth plan, ID, insurance card, phone charger, hair ties, mints, loose clothing to wear home and toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrush and a facial wash.

Bregman whose client includes Kristen Bell, Kelly Rowland and Molly Sims said the expectant mom can also bring other stuff to transform the hospital into a relaxing and personal place.

She said flameless candles can help the patient feel calm. And to promote peace and tranquility, Bregman said a few drops of lavender in aromatherapy diffuser is the best choice while peppermint can ease nausea.

The coach also recommended bringing a pillow because pillows in the hospital may be uncomfortable and bringing your own may help you to relax. In addition, be sure to bring flip-flops because floors in the hospital might be freezing and slippery.

And to help a woman feel good about herself, Bregman said it is important to bring lip salve. "Your mouth tends to get really dry during labor," the expert explained. Moreover, bring a cold pack because women who are in deep labor tend to run hot and placing something cold on their neck can comfort them. And to make the woman energized throughout the labor, Bregman said playing good songs that have beautiful meaning is a great idea.
