A Glimpse Of What Could Have Happened On Rihanna's Canceled Grammys 2016 Performance Of 'Kiss It Better'

Rihanna's fans were thrilled upon knowing that she's one of the performers to hit Grammy's last Monday, February 16. Just a couple of hours before showing up on stage, however, her performance was cancelled. Rihanna was forced to rest due to a viral infection that can permanently damage her vocal cords, according to TMZ.

"Based on Rihanna's examination after Grammy rehearsal today, Rihanna's doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords," Rihanna's reps said. "The antibiotics she has been on for three days did not kill the infection adequately, therefore she cannot perform safely."

The singer was supposed to be introduced by comedian and talk-show host James Corden. In one of E! News report, he dished out a few spoilers as to what could possibly happen when RiRi's performance pushed through. During CBS' "The Late Show," Corden narrated how he was approached by Rihanna's reps as he was asked to introduce the singer.

"I get this phone call saying Rihanna has got this big thing planned for her song 'Kiss It Better' and she's doing like a whole '80s talk show thing and it's going to be really cool," Corden added. " What she wants you to do is be like an '80s talk show host and I'd have funny glasses and sit on a thing, maybe have a cigarette, and I'd introduce Rihanna, and she'd come out and do a song and then at the end she'd come and sit with me, like it was it's own talk show which they called As It Lays. So, I go on Saturday morning and I rehearse it there. She's a bit under the weather but it's all going to be OK."

Riri was supposed to perform her new song, "Kiss It Better" from her latest album, "ANTI."
