'The Winds of Winter' Release Date, News & Update: Neil Gaiman Co-Authors, Release Date Is 2017; Martin Not Releasing Anything Until Winds Of Winter Is Finish

There is still a lot of talk about George R.R. Martin's "The Winds of Winter" release and although it seems likely that the possibility of its release being this year is very small, there are still fans of the author who believes that this is not so. But, it is highly unlikely that "The Winds of Winter", the sixth book from "The Song of Ice and Fire" series of books, will be releasde this year even if it is after the debut of "Game of Thrones" Season 6.

Now, fans are just waiting for 2017 to come, since rumors are spreading around the Martin might be able to finish "The Winds of Winter" by that time. Martin has already apologize through a blog post on his Live Journal about not being able to finish "The Winds of Winter" on time and being unable to give the book to the publishers on time.

Fans are now hoping that Martin will be able to deliver "The Winds of Winter" this 2017 and some fans actually believe that Martin should get a co-author to write with him and help him in the revision of "The Winds of Winter." It was reported a few weeks back that Neil Gaiman, the popular author of book "Good Omens, Bad Omens", "Anansi Boys" and "The Sandman" will be helping Martin co-author "The Winds of Winter."

The co-authorship of "The Winds of Winter" is yet to be confirmed, but if Gaiman will join Martin in finishing "The Winds of Winter" it is highly likely that the book might be published early 2017. Gaiman's camp was asked whether it is true that the author will co-author "The Winds of Winter," however, there has been no word yet.

Martin also expressed his disappointment on himself for not being able to finish "The Winds of Winter" in time but he promises that it will be his number one priority. Martin will invest all his time in finishing "The Winds of Winter" and until then he will not pick up anything until "The Winds of Winter" is released.
