'Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2' Release Date, Cast & Update: Director Timm Gunn Confirms Kurt Russel And 3 Other New Cast Members

The highly-successful Marvel Universe movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" will be having a second movie and it is making the fans very excited. The "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is now in the making and there have been many rumors surrounding the movie and apparent leaks. As of now, the production team is yet to reveal more casts for the movie but they have announced the newest additions recently.

It was announced today by director Tim Gunn himself that Hollywood A-lister Kurt Russel will be joining the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" cast and that he, himself, is very excited. "My favorite movie as a small child was 'The Strongest Man in the World,' so I'm glad to announce that, yes, Kurt Russell has joined our cast and, yes, he is more awesome a dude than I ever could have imagined," Gunn wrote.

Although it is unclear as to what role Russel will play in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," it will surely be something awesome. Russel also admitted before that he had spoken to Gunn before about a role in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" film but that he was unfamiliar of the first movie.

There are also other three new cast members announced including Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan. Klementieff will play the role of Mantis in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" movie, which is a green skinned martial artist. "The last few days around here with him and our other new cast members, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan, have been some of the best of my life," Gunn said. 

The original cast members such as Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Copper, Zoey Saldana, and Michael Rooker will reprise their roles in the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" film.
