‘General Hospital’ Cast & Updates: Rebecca Herbst to Replace Kate Mansi as Abigail on ‘Days of Our Lives?’

"General Hospital" rumors are still rife that Rebecca Herbst will be leaving Port Charles soon after reaching an impasse in her contract negotiations with ABC. However, it looks like Herbst has found a new show to star in, as NBC soap opera, "Days of Our Lives" is reportedly keen on getting the actress onboard.

"General Hospital" actress Rebecca Herbst may be leaving the ABC soap opera as Liz Webber if contract negotiations with the network continue to make an impasse. According to Daytime Confidential, Herbst was not happy with the offer she was given by the network.

This has also caused quite a stir on social media after "GH" executive producer Nathan Varni revealed the details of contract negotiations with the actress. Varni, however, claimed that his Facebook account was hacked.

While several fans rejoiced after hearing the news about Herbst's departure from the series, others threatened to stop watching the show if her character leaves.

However, fans may be delighted to hear that another soap opera, "Days of Our Lives," is keen on getting Herbst onboard to either play a new character or replace an old one.

Celeb Dirty Laundry noted that should Herbst join "DOOL," she may play the role of Abigail Devereux, as NBC has yet to find a replacement for actress Kate Mansi. However, several fans weren't pleased with the thought of seeing Herbst play the role of Abigail, as the actress did not seem to fit in with the character's age and personality.

Herbst may also play the role of Sarah Horton, as the publication noted that Maggie is in dire need of her mother right now, especially after Daniel died. Of course, Herbst might as well just enter "Days of Our Lives" as a new character.

What do you think? Should Rebecca Herbst leave "GH" and star on "Days?" Sound off in the comments section below!
