'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date, News & Update: Launch Date Remains Uncertain

Fans are only left speculating about the release date and what the new game will have to offer as Rockstar Games is not divulging anything about "Red Dead Redemption 2."

Since the release of "Red Dead Redemption" it's coming close to 6 years and, according to MobiPicker, there's still no official confirmation of a sequel. However, the rumors continue to come out regardless of whether or not the developer would like to admit they're making a sequel.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick declared back in 2014 that since it delivers incredible quality, "it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise." Take-Two is Rockstar's parent company so it is good to know that "Red Dead" is a permanent franchise for them. However, for fans of the game, the main question remains when will the sequel come out.

According to the website dsogaming.com, two leakers on Reddit declared that the game "Red Dead Redemption 2" is indeed under development. One user has suggested that the game will come out in 2016 and the other has suggested that the game has been in development for 3.5 years now.

However, if the game hasn't been announced by Rockstar Games yet that leaves time only for a Q4 2016 release window. According to Christian Post, there are also hopes that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be released four months from now, at E3 this year.

According to one of the leaks on Reddit, the game will feature three main characters and among them one will be the customizable. The other two characters are Seth, a teller from Kansas City, and Irish, who was raised in Ireland before moving to the Americas.

Some other rumors for "Red Dead Redemption 2" suggest that the game might be set in the Western America, in territories such as Rocky Mountains, Dakota, Arizona, Louisiana, Mexico, Utah and Texas, or in Japan. The game will be will be multi-platform and it will be launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
