‘The Winds of Winter’ Release Date, News & Update: George RR Martin To Release The Book Before ‘GoT’ Season 6 Ends?

Several fans went berserk when it was announced earlier this year that George R.R. Martin will not be able to finish "The Winds of Winter" on time. Now, new reports claimed that fans have to wait another year as it was reported that the much-anticipated novel will be released by late 2016 or early 2017.

George RR Martin failed to finish the book

Martin himself was broken and disappointed when he announced to his million followers that he will not be able to finish "The Winds of Winter" book. His frustration came to no surprise as he previously announced that he plans to release it before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 starts.

"Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish," Martin said at that time. "But I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interview-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."

However, to the dismay of everyone, it seems like fans and critics alike are going to finish watching the sixth season of the "Game of Thrones" before they could touch the covers of "The Winds of Winter" book. Though this could be possible, fans are still hopeful that Martin could release it earlier than what is being reported.

What we know about "The Winds of Winter"

"In reality, it's quite hard to predict the release of 'The Winds of Winter' because compared to the other books like 'A Dance with Dragons'; there's few information coming from Martin and his editors and it is still a mystery as to how of the book is already done," Crossmap stated in a report. What fans can do right now is hope and pray that Martin will have the urge to finish writing the tome.

Meanwhile, International Design Times has compared "The Winds of Winter" to "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis and the "Harry Potter" saga of J.K. Rowling, saying it is lengthier than the latter.  The entertainment news outlet stated that Martin is having his own perfect time to write the story flow of the seventh book of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga.
