'The Division' Release Date, News & Update: Open Beta Of 'The Division' Gather 6.4 Million Players; The Most Gamers Ever In First IP Launch

Highly-anticipated Ubisoft video game "The Division" has already break one record and it hasn't even been officially released yet. According to reports, "The Division" Beta has gathered over 6.4 million players during its Beta launching, toppling video game "Destiny's" beta launching last 2014, which gathered a good 4.6 million gamers. This clearly shows that "The Division" is a force to be reckoned with and Ubisoft is not holding back with this game.

"The Division's" beta was launched in three platforms -- on Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One and on PC -- and Ubisoft has gathered the information that across all three platforms, over 6.4 million players tuned to play "The Division." Players of "The Division" logged on an average of five hours in "The Division" beta's Dark Zone and almost 50 percent of "The Division's" players went rogue, meaning they killed friendly players.

Gamers of the beta version of "The Division" also successfully extracted over 63 million items, a very high number that is. The beta open of Ubisoft's "The Division" started last February 18 and wrapped earlier this morning.

The open beta of "The Division" was highly anticipated by the game developers and they had high hopes that it will join the ranks of the best IP launches of all time, which includes the games "Destiny" (2014), "Watch Dogs" (2014) and "Assassins Creed" (2007). What Ubisoft did not expect is that "The Division" will come on top, toppling over Bungie's "Destiny" from the number one spot.

"Because of its many attributes--RPG, shooter, massive online multiplayer, realistic setting in a beautifully recreated New York, great open world playable in solo or in co-op--The Division can become one of the biggest launches ever for a new IP," John Parkes, Managing Director of "The Division" said. The official launch of "The Division" is on March 8.
