iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs, Trailer & Update: 5 Things To Know About The Upcoming Apple Smartphone

Several Apple fans are now excited for the launching of the iPhone 7.  While there are reports about its features specs and price, there is no official statement made public yet up to now. So far, here are the things we know about the upcoming iPhone 7.

iPhone 7 is arriving in mid-September 2016

While Apple has not confirmed it yet, many believe that the newest iPhone will be launched in September just like when iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were released last year. It has been known to many that Apple traditionally release their new offerings during this time of the year.

As a matter of fact, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were unveiled on Sept. 9, 2014; iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s were launched on Sept. 10, 2013; and the iPhone 5 was launched on Sept. 12. However, though it is highly possible, Mac World reported that there could be some delay due to the earthquake that hit Taiwan, which caused damage to the factories of one of Apple's loyal supplier, TSMC.

"There could be some delay for the launch of the iPhone 7, though, or at least a lower than expected supply at launch after an earthquake in Taiwan that caused damage to Apple supplier TSMC's factories," the tech news outlet stated in a report. "Earlier in February, reports stated that TSMC has reached a deal with Apple to become the company's sole manufacturor of the A10 chip for the iPhone 7."

iPhone 7 will have a pre-installed Apple SIM

New reports claimed that iPhone 7 is likely to come with a pre-installed Apple SIM. ""[The Apple SIM], which also made its debut with the iPad Air 2, allows consumers to sign up for mobile data plans from any participating carrier directly from the Settings app without long-term contracts and to switch providers at any time," a source told Apple Insider.

iPhone 7 will get a 3GB RAM

Apple Insider also reported that iPhone 7 could feature a 3GB RAM. "We weren't expecting an upgrade in this department just yet; three generations of iPhone (from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus) came with 1GB of RAM, and this was only bumped to 2GB last year for the 6s and 6s Plus. We expected at least one more generation with 2GB, and potentially two," Mac World reported.

iPhone 7 will have the LiFi Feature

Reports have it that iPhone 7 will be the first one to introduce the LiFi feature to smartphones. LiFi is a new wireless standard that has a download speed up to 100x faster than traditional Wi-Fi connections.  Unlike Wi-Fi that uses radio waves like routers, this technology uses visible light communication (VLC).

iPhone 7 will end the 16 GB storage capacity

Since most Apple users do not find the 16 GB storage enough for their needs, recent reports claimed that the end of the Apple smartphone variant is near.
