How Motherhood Influenced Kelli Giddish's Role On 'Law and Order: SVU'

"Law & Order: SVU" star Kelli Giddish admitted that her motherhood has influenced her character on the drama series. Her character, detective Amanda Rollins, was also recently portrayed as a woman who got pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl.

She told E! that her real son Ludo will play as Rollins' daughter in the television show. However, she claimed that the decision to expose his kid to the cameras was not an easy one.

"I was like, 'Am I pimping my child out?' And they were like, 'No! That will be such a cool thing when he gets older, he'll have been on Law & Order.' I was like, 'Yeah as a girl," Giddish told E! "I'm sure he's going to love that when he gets old enough to realize. He's going to be like, 'Oh, thanks for the pink bow on national television, mom,'" she added.

The 35-year-old actress also shared that she felt nothing but "pure joy" when she gave birth to her son. "It was really comforting to be able to have him on set by my side," Giddish claimed.

Us Weekly said Giddish gave birth to her son with husband Lawrence Faulborn last October 6, 2015. Co-star Ice T was the one who broke the news on social media.

She also explained that her motherhood had some changes on the behavior of Rollins in the show. "Everyone's asking her if it mellowed her out. I think it probably did. We shall see," the actress added.

However, E! observed that her being a new mom has not stopped the actress from being reckless on the television. It claimed that in a recent episode of "Law & Order: SVU" entitled "Star-Struck Victims," she was her usual detective self when she was catching a TV star criminal.
