‘The Last of Us 2’ to Focus Entirely on Ellie? Naughty Dog Already Working on the Sequel?

Naughty Dog has reportedly started working on the production of the highly anticipated "The Last of Us 2." Will the plot of the sequel focus entirely on Ellie or will it feature new characters?

"The Last of Us 2" news and updates hint on the possibility that Naughty Dog is already working on the development of the game's highly anticipated sequel. According to Christian Today, rumors are rife that Naughty Dog is already done working on "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," which means that the game developer is ready to work on his next project.

"Uncharted 4: Thief's End" is allegedly ready for release on Apr. 26, which means that the game may almost be complete. An earlier interview with Sony Computer Entertainment President Shuhei Yoshida also revealed that talks on "The Last of Us" sequel were already made.

In the said interview, Yoshida admitted that there wasn't anything official to share about the game; however, he revealed that several ideas have been laid out during the discussion. The publication also reported on a possible name for "The Last of Us 2."

According to the outlet, Sony has filed a trademark for the title "Days Gone" in December. This led to speculations that "The Last of Us" sequel will be named as such given the title's connection to the game.

Meanwhile, Movie Pilot cited possible storylines and characters for "The Last of Us 2" game. The publication noted that the first game ended the story of Joel and Ellie on a good note and anything involving these two again in the sequel could ruin the game itself.

The publication then noted on a possible storyline focusing on other characters such as Tommy or "The Last of Us 2" may even entirely focus on Ellie alone. Several fans also noted that the sequel should feature the same characters because the game succeeded greatly due to Joel and Ellie.
