'Fast and the Furious' News, Cast And Release Date: Movie To Have 10 Instalments; Eva Mendes Is Coming Back

After the blockbuster hit of the 7th movie of the "Fast and the Furious" franchise, fans can now expect more as they are suggesting a trilogy following the success of the movie earlier last year. More so, Eva Mendes is said reprise her role as Monica Fuentes.

It was earlier reported that an eight instalment will follow after the success of the "Fast and the Furious" 7 even with Paul Walker gone. There are contradicting reports however about Cody Walker's return for the 8th instalment. Fast 7 was completed with the help of Cody, Paul's brother, after the actor died from a tragic accident.

As of now, nothing has been confirmed; whether or not, the brother of Paul Walker will continue the role of Brian O' Connor. As Movie News Guide reports, the role of Brian is critical for the success of the next three instalments. But the report said that Brian O' Connor's character has seen the final end in Fast 7. The character will still be represented in other forms in the next instalments, suggesting that flashbacks of Paul Walker will be featured in the movies.

Meanwhile, a separate report from Movie News Guide reveals that Eva Mendes will come back and will portray her role as Monica Fuentes once more. There were hints that she may pair up with Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson and Dom (Vin Diesel) to fight a new adversary in New York. Mendes was last seen as a cameo in "Fast and the Furious" 5 but had a leading role in "Fast and the Furious" 2.

It was initially reported that Diesel will direct the next instalments however, it was confirmed in October last year that the films will be directed by F Gary Gray. Reports from Digital Spy revealed the release dates of the trilogy: "Fast 8" will be released on April 14, 2017, "Furious 9" will be released two years after on April 19, 209 and the last one will be released on April 10, 2021.

As promised by Vin Diesel, the "Fast and the Furious" will have a trilogy before the tenth instalment. In 20 years, the franchise had made 10 films in one saga. Check out the ending scene from the "Fast and the Furious" 7:
