A sporty teenage boy from Essex discovered that he had an inoperable brain tumor after he was sent home from school over a simple headache.
The 15-year-old's mother, Sarah Ferris, stepfather, Mark Ferris, and 14-year-old brother, William, described the student as a sporty individual. This is evident in the fact that he is said to cycle to school every single day.
Teen Diagnosed With Inoperable Brain Tumor
The family is now desperately looking for various treatment options abroad and has already raised more than $67,000 to support Callum Stone's options. The situation began after the parents got a call from their son's school in January 2025 asking a family member to pick him up.
When Mark arrived at the school, he said that his stepson was struggling to even speak properly. As they were on their way to a local hospital, the teenager reportedly suffered three seizures, according to the Independent.
Medical professionals conducted further scans and tests on Stone at Great Ormond Street Hospital (Gosh) for Children in London. He was then diagnosed with a grade four brain tumor, which was said to be growing "like a cobweb," which made it impossible to operate.

The teenage boy is still optimistic about his situation and is concentrating on his fitness and diet. However, his family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for treatment options overseas because there are "no other options for him on the NHS."
He said that when they first found out about the brain tumor, it was difficult and his family members were a bit moody and quiet. However, Stone said that since then, things have become a little bit better, MSN reported.
Path to Recovery
The teen said that eating properly and exercising made him feel a lot better, noting that he has also been walking their dog, riding his bike, and going to the gym. He encouraged others in similar situations to go out for walks with their loved ones and keep a positive attitude.
When the parents of Stone first got the news about the brain tumor, they told their son together when they got home. They said that the teenager took it better than they did and that he was more worried about his loved ones and how they would take it.
Mark said that when Stone found out about his brain tumor, he simply smiled and hugged his parents on the spot. Then, they traveled to the University of College Hospital in London on Feb. 14, 2025, where the teenager received six weeks of daily radiotherapy starting on Feb. 24, as per The Sun.
