Scotland officials issued a warning after the deceased body of a 15-year-old boy was found in a river amid record-high temperatures in the country.

Law enforcement personnel responded to call-outs to an area near Glasgow and immediately conducted a rescue operation on the River Kelvin, which is found near Maryhill Road. The efforts started at around 6:40 p.m., but the teenager's body was not found until 11:30 p.m.

Teen Found Dead in Scottish River Amid Scorching Temperatures

For now, authorities are not treating the young boy's death as suspicious, and Police Scotland believes that it was accidental. A spokesperson added that while inquiries are ongoing, the department is not suspecting foul play in the teenager's tragic situation.

The case marks the latest incident that police attended to amid soaring temperatures in Scotland. A previous case involved a 63-year-old woman who fell near Campsie Glen waterfall in East Dunbartonshire, according to the Independent.

Another incident was when Galloway Mountain Rescue helped the Scottish Ambulance Service in assisting a walker who suffered from heat exhaustion in Dumfries and Galloway. The series of cases comes as temperatures hit 32.2 degrees Celsius at Aviemore, marking the hottest day in Scotland in the past two years.

These record-high temperatures were only previously recorded on six different occasions since 1961. The weekend was also noteworthy as temperatures across the United Kingdom rose to around 33 degrees Celsius in Ross on Wye.

A Series of Tragic Incidents

Officials from Northern Ireland and Wales also reported that they recorded the warmest day of the year so far amid the ongoing weather changes. However, forecasters suggest that the situation could soon shift to cooler temperatures, Yahoo News reported.

Amid the series of cases related to the heat in Scotland, a 23-year-old man was also reported missing and believed to have drowned in the River Thames. Officials conducted a major search operation to find the victim.

The man, known only as William, allegedly went to swim with a group of friends but quickly got into trouble. While his friends desperately tried to pull him out of the water, they had to call emergency services to assist.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said that specialist teams were responsible for conducting the rescue operations of the 23-year-old man. They added that they received a call from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service at around 9:10 p.m., talking about William having difficulties in the water of the River Thames, as per MSN.
