Dad Asks Netizens If It Is OK to Tattoo One of Identical Twin Sons Due to Health Reasons

A desperate dad sought help online on whether he would push with a plan to have one of his identical twins tattooed. He claimed that it is extremely necessary to identify one from the other because of their medical needs.

The Reddit user named Thrwydad asked netizens if his idea was a good one since he would be doing it for the sake of one of his kids. "There is no difference between them apart from Aaron having very serious health issues, requiring him to have medication every 4 hours. If he doesn't have his medication it leads to significant consequences," he explained.

He explained that his twins, who are now a year old, still look very much the same. Thrwydad expressed concern that their similar appearances could prove dangerous to both of them.

The dad claimed that there was one time the boys' grandmother gave Aaron's medicines to Adam. "Adam ended up very sick and [ended up] in the hospital for a week. This is a serious extreme situation and I don't want to take this risk again," he claimed.

The concerned parent noted that they have tried putting distinguishing marks to their kids like accessories of shaving the hair of the other. However, he shared that they want to create a permanent solution to their predicament.

"I read online about someone tattooing a single dot on one of their twins and also about piercing ears. I really hate to say it but we are here," said Thrwydad.

In a similar report, Someecards said that the father and his wife are temporary using a permanent marker to know who is Adam and who is Aaron. But it noted that they are greatly considering getting a tattoo for one of their kids.

However, some Reddit users did not agree with this idea while others thought it could indeed solve their problem. One also suggested that they could opt using henna tattoo instead of a permanent ink.
