Father Who Killed Toddler With Cancer And Burned Her Was Ordered For Mental Exam

The latest development on the murder case of Maddox Lawrence, the toddler with cancer who was allegedly burned and murdered by her own father, Ryan Lawrence, is now out with a court decision requiring the culprit to undergo a mental exam on Feb. 29. It has been a week since this murder case was opened and everyone is wondering what happens next after an arrest has been made for Ryan Lawrence.

In a report published by News10.com, a Syracuse City Court judge has ordered Ryan Lawrence to get a mental health examination before his trial after being charged with second-degree murder for burning and dumping the body of her almost 2-year-old daughter, Maddox, who was also diagnosed with cancer. The mental exam was needed to know whether he is capable of understanding the charges filed against him.

Two doctors will be doing the test in order to check his mental status before he faces the court, especially when he confessed doing the crime when police arrested him. Eventually, he changed his stand and pleaded not guilty on Feb. 24 after his child's body was found in a creek not far from Syracuse's Inner Harbor.

According to a certain published earlier police report, baby Maddox's was murdered outside the city area of Syracuse on Saturday and her killer decided to dump her body in the creek, as he head back to the city. The community of Syracuse performed a vigil on Feb. 24 for Maddox, as everyone tried to comfort Morgan Lawrence, the child's mother.

Meanwhile, Onandoga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick will handle the prosecution of Ryan Lawrence, but he is still unable to disclose any other information regarding how exactly the 21-month-old child was killed. He said that he was hoping she didn't suffer that much during the process as it is something that he would also report to Morgan. Fitzpatrick still won't disclose to the public other information regarding the case, as there is still an ongoing investigation that might affect other details involving the crime.
