'Ice Age: Collision Course' News and Updates: New Characters and Official Trailer Released

After four successful instalments, "Ice Age" is back featuring new characters in its fifth instalment titled as "Ice Age: Collision Course". The second official trailer has been released as well.

The seemingly never-ending Ice Age franchise has come back along with the familiar characters of Sid, Diego and Manny. There will be new characters in "Ice Age: Collision Course" as well, Screenrant reports.

Voices of Stephanie Beatrize (You're Not You), Adam DeVine (Pitch Perfect 2), Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield (Veronica Mars), Jessie J, Nick Offerman (Fargo), Melissa Raunch (The Big Bang Theory) and Michael Strahan will be used for the new set of characters in the coming ending of "Ice Age".

More so, the same creative team have also worked on the fifth instalment. "Ice Age: Collision Course" is directed by Mike Thurmeier, the same person who directed previous instalments of the movie: "Ice Age: Dawn of Dinosaurs" and "Ice Age: Continental Drift".

The same with the previous four movies, the story starts with Scrat who is still in pursuit for its elusive acorn. As it desperately attempts to get hold of the stuck acorn, it accidentally turned on a spaceship which blasted off outside the planet. As expected, Scrat caused a series of cosmic events which resulted to a massive meteor shower.

Meanwhile, as Sid Manny and Diego find shelter to keep them safe, they meet strange new characters along the way. Among the new characters is Shangri-Llama who is voiced by Simon Pegg. This character seemed to believe that yoga is the key to survival. However, Manny and Diego seemed to think otherwise. More so, there's also a possibility of a love developing among the characters based on the trailer released.

"Ice Age: Collision Course" is set to open in U.S. theaters on July 22, 2016. This is something that the whole family can surely enjoy. Check out the longer version of the trailer in the video below:
