'Fallout 4' DLC News & Updates: Bethesda Launches A New Patch

Bethesda Games Studios launches the latest beta patch for the "Fallout 4" game. The new patch adds new craftable items, support for the upcoming add-ons, and comes with plenty of bug fixes.

Just one week ago, Bethesda released the new beta patch for "Fallout 4." This indicates that the official release would be near. The patch 1.4 has officially gone live now for Steam users.

According to Game Rant, the Steam update weights in at an impressive 927.7 megabytes. However, the patch is not available yet for gamers playing "Fallout 4" on consoles. The game developer company still didn't make it clear when the patch will be approved for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The new 1.4 patch comes to provide native support for the upcoming add-on content for "Fallout 4".  The first add-on content is expected to arrive later this month and it is called "Automatron."  Gamers could buy the first of three announced expansions by paying $50 for the Season's Pass or by purchasing them individually for $10 each. In case of opting for the Season's Pass, this gives access to all the year's upcoming content.

With the new patch for "Fallout 4," Bethesda demonstrates a strong focus on the game's new settlement crafting mechanic. The patch will add brand new craftable content, including: more metal and wood doors variants; variety of new signs; abstract and portrait paintings; raider clutter including raider poles, cages and tents; super mutant clutter including meat totems, meat bags and meat cart.

Aside modifications and settlement-based improvements, the 1.4 patch also fixes plenty of bugs in "Fallout 4," providing general stability and performance improvements.

Meanwhile, Game Spot reports that new "Fallout 4" Pop! Vinyl toys are now available. Included on the new line are toys based on some of the game's most popular characters such as Sole Survivor, Dogmeat, T-60 Power Armor and John Hancock. Fans of the "Fallout 4" game may purchase the toys on Bethesda's website for $12 each.
