'Pokemon Rainbow' Release Date, News & Updates: Pokemon Company To Release 'Pokemon Rainbow' Instead Of 'Pokemon Z'; Rumored Game Since 2013

Recently, Pokemon has been around social media with numerous announcements of new games and special promos for their fans, this is because it is Pokemon's 20th year anniversary this year and the Pokemon Company is giving back to their fans. A lot of Pokemon fans are waiting for the announcement of the release of "Pokemon Go" and "Pokemon Moon" and "Pokemon Sun."

Now, there is a new rumored game that Pokemon is developing and it is called "Pokemon Rainbow." As for the truth, no one really knows and there is yet to be a confirmation from the Pokemon Company.

According to the rumors, Game Freak will release a new game and although fans are waiting for some more news about the confirmed games, such as "Pokemon Go" and "Pokemon Z" this is quiet exciting.

The rumors state that instead of "Pokemon Z" being released this year, it will be moved to next year and that instead a new game, codenamed "Pokemon Niji" translating to "Pokemon Rainbow" will be released this year. This news comes from NintenGen's MetalDave who claims that an employee of Nintendo working on America's marketing department has shared that there are software release schedule and this includes "Pokemon Rainbow."

Another post by BitBag also reveals that a big amount of budget has been allotted to "Pokemon Rainbow." MetalDave's source also warned that "Pokemon Rainbow" might just be a placeholder and that during the launch it might be named differently and that it expected to debut on the holiday season.

This is not the first time that rumors about "Pokemon Rainbow" has circulated in the internet, last 2013, it was claimed that "Pokemon Rainbow" was headed to Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and that the game had settings and Pokemon characters from generation one to four. But on 2013 it was "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" released.
