'Star Wars: Battlefront' News & Update: More Sequels Coming According To EA; Two More 'Star Wars' Games To Be Revealed This Year

There is no doubt that any "Star Wars" paraphernalia will, at some point, get successful and that includes the video games under that name. Take for example the success that "Star Wars: Battlefront" video game has been getting since its release. Now, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen hinted that there will be more to come with "Star Wars" video games and mobile games.

The expansion of the EA "Star Wars" games are due to the success that their games have been getting and this includes "Star Wars: Battlefront," "Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes" and "Star Wars: The Old Republic." According to Jorgensen, all three games, which they have released, have been doing very well last year and he expects that they will still do better.

Jorgensen has also expressed joy at the fact that Disney and Lucas Films have been expanding the "Star Wars" series. Thus, giving the "Star Wars" video game developers more room for expanding the franchise. EA holds the licensing rights to "Star Wars" for a long 10 years, and surely Jorgensen and his team will use these 10 years to profit from the "Star Wars" franchise name.

"As everyone knows, with 'Star Wars,' there is an unlimited amount of things you can do with the content. And as Disney starts to add more and more new content, that gives fuel to our ability to add more games around it," Jorgensen said during at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference in San Francisco. It was also previously reported that EA plans to produce several sequels to their successful video game "Star Wars: Battlefront."

Jorgensen also revealed some good news during his talk saying that fans of "Star Wars: Battlefront" should expect two new games from them this year as well as a new "Star Wars" game that is reportedly an open world title. Director and writer Amy Hennig will take the reins on this rumored "Star Wars" open world title video game.
