America's States Health Rankings: New England Top The Healthiest States In The US

The United Health Foundation compares the 50 states of America in regards to chronic disease prevention, health care and immunization. The New England states namely the Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island are among the top 6. The survey was in partnership with the American College of Preventive Medicine.

Fox News reports the following list of the top five and bottom five states from the most healthcare provider with health problems states:


Most dedicated health care provider
The top 5 states for the most dedicated health care provider are Massachusets, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and Delaware. On the other hand, the bottom 5 states are Nevada, Alaska, Texas, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Most health coverage

Among the Top 5 for states with most health coverage are Massachusets, Vermont, Minnesota, Iowa and Rhode Island. Meanwhile, Texas, Georgia, Mississipi, Louisiana, and Florida are the bottom top 5 states.

Annual dental visit

The top 5 states having an annual dental visit to a dentist are Connecticut, Massachusets, Minnesota, Vermont and Rhode Island. The bottom 5 states are West Virginia, Mississipi, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas.

Immunization for children
Children are safe in states such as Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nebraska and Pennsylvania. On the other hand, it requires extra care for children living in West Virginia, Wyoming, Texas, Michigan and Oregon.

Immunization for adolescents

The adolescents are protected in states such as Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusets. On the other hand, the bottom 5 states are Mississipi, Wyoming, Alaska, South Dakota and Montana.

Flu vaccines for adults

No worries on flu at South Dakota, West Virgina, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Iowa and Minnesota. Meanwhile, you have to boost your immune system if you live in states such as Florida, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia and Alaska.

Mental Health America measured the state's mental health and access to care. These include adults and youths with mental disabilities, dependence on drugs or alcohol, thoughts of suicide, have unmet needs, and with major depression mood.
The top 5 states with the Lowest prevalence of mental illnesses and high rates of access to care are Minnesota, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and South Dakota. On the other hand, the bottom 5 states with the highest prevalence of mental illnesses and lowest rates of access to care are Virginia, Lousiana, Indiana, Idaho and Utah.
