iPad Air 3 Release Date, News & Updates: Apple Might Launch iPad Air 3 Under A Different Name

Apple will soon replace the current iPad Air 2 with the iPad Air 3. It is speculated that the iPad Air 3 will incorporate some of the design features of the iPad Pro; therefore, the upcoming device might come under a different name.

Last year, customers were expecting the Apple iPad Air 3 to come out at the September launch event together with the iPad Pro and iPhone 6s. However, Apple did not unveil the iPad Air 3 and people are still wondering when it would be released.

Rumors suggest that the next generation Apple iPad Air 3 would be announced at Apple's March launch event. Since it's already March, people are hopeful that the latest Apple gadget will come out soon.

There are rumors claiming that the iPad Air 3 will be different from what people expect. It might not even be called an iPad Air 3 at all. According to a report published by Mac Rumors, the next generation Apple iPad Air 3 would be rebranded as the iPad Pro.

The actual name of the upcoming Apple product isn't certain yet, but the coming iPad Air iteration will likely take some specs, features and design elements from the iPad Pro. This would make it, in essence, to be an iPad Pro. Among the elements from the iPad Pro that would be incorporated in the product would be an Apple Pencil support, a smart connector and a four-speaker layout.

Digital Trends is also supporting the idea that the iPad Air 3 will be a new form of iPad Pro. According to the outlet, the upcoming Apple tablet would be an iPad Air with the design trend of the iPad Pro. Apple might aim to fuse the two into one product by incorporating the design of the iPad Pro to the iPad Air 3, possibly to streamline Apple's line.
