iPhone 7 Release Date, News & Updates: Besides iPhone 7, Apple To Release iPhone Pro & iPhone SE In 2016

Apple has confirmed internally the names of the next range of iPhones to be released at the upcoming March event. These are the iPhone 7, iPhone Pro and the iPhone SE.

Value Walk published a leaked sketch of the smaller four-inch iPhone unit that will be called iPhone SE. The SE part of the smartphone's name stands for Special Edition. This upcoming device will be significantly smaller than the premium iPhone handset. Previous rumors speculated that Apple will brand this smartphone as the iPhone 5SE.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple will launch the next-generation affordable iPhone unit in March at the company's special event. The iPhone SE will be released by the tech giant alongside a smaller, 9.7-inch iPad Pro tablet and new colors and band designs for the Apple Watch.

Another rumor suggests that Apple is considering releasing a second iPhone on its product line. The expected iPhone 7 Plus device could ultimately come to the market under the name iPhone Pro, according to reports citing Apple sources.

The new iPhone Pro or iPhone 7 Plus has been also predicted to feature dual-lens cameras. Apple might consider the distinctive iPhone Pro name in order to separate the device from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which only feature single-lens cameras.

Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at KGI Securities, has previously suggested that Apple is considering on producing two separate versions of the iPhone 7 Plus. Each of the version will feature a different camera technology. Other analysts have questioned this information on the grounds that there is very little incentive for Apple to effectively splinter its iPhone lineup.

Apple has not yet confirmed these speculations and rumors. However, it is possible that by the end of 2016, consumers will have the opportunity to choose from four new iPhone units.

After the iPhone SE reportedly comes to the market in March or April, the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone Pro units might arrive in the early weeks of the fourth quarter of 2016.
