Here's How You Got Your Human Traits

Human traits may be acquired or inherited through. Acquiring traits happen due to our reactions and interactions with our environment while inherited traits are passed on from parents or even from ancestors. Here are some of the surprising things children should blame their genes for having.

Phobias

It has been believed that learning experiences and memories are passed on to generations through teaching thus developing the same type of fear resulting to the same phobia on different generations. However,  a recent study has proven that the chemical changes occurring in DNA as a result of fear or traumatic experience can be passed on biologically, according to Telegraph.

Poor Eyesight

A team of international scientist discovered that there are 24 genes responsible for eye disorders such as Myopia proving that poor eyesight is not only due to improper lifestyle but genetic as well.

Food taste

TAS2R38 a taste receptor gene controls our tongue's sensitivity to bitter taste. This type of gene can be passed on from parents to children making the children sensitive to the same type of food taste a parent cannot take, according to Journal Frontier.

Tongue Tricks

Some people can twist the end of their tongue on one side. Some can roll the sides to form a cylinder. Though it has not 100 percent proven, 70 percent of the identical twins studied had the same characteristics making the researchers hold on the theory that it is genetically inherited.

Dimples

Parents with dimples are more likely to have children or even grandchildren with dimples for they are heritable. There is, however, no assurance of their dimples to be identical. Some may develop over time while some are present at birth.

Stretch marks

ELN or elastin is the type of gene highly responsible for stretch marks. Being recipient of this gene gives mothers no excuse from having stretch marks before, during or after pregnancy.

Sleepiness

If you think you've had enough sleep yet your body doesn't' agree with you and your eyes just can't get enough instead kept asking for more, then you might have received a slightly hard to carry inheritance, according to Little Things.

People carry different genes. It is your responsibility to make the best out of the good traits and find wisdom how to turn the negative traits to positive and eventually become your strength.
