5 Cool Lunch Ideas For Your Child To Bring At School

Packing your child's lunch is the perfect opportunity to make them eat right and healthy.  But admit it,  the struggle is just too real to re-invent how you prepare your child's food.

We are giving you 5 cool lunch ideas to spice up your child's lunch box, making them eat the right foods every day:

Cool Tip #1: The Case for Ninja Veggies
Instead of putting the usual carrot slices, why not grate it and put it with scrambled egg and voila you get a healthy carrot omelet!  Finely chopped spinach, zucchini and cucumber are also awesome additions to their favorite tomato sauce pasta.

Cool Tip #2: Homemade Munchies Are In
Making them avoid eating processed food will be better if you offer them healthier alternatives. Whole-grain crackers topped with peanut butter and jelly is way better than pop tarts! You may also top it with tomato sauce, low-fat cheese, your left-over chicken shreds, tomatoes and basil for that yummy crunchy pizza - neatly packed in their bento boxes.

Cool Tip #3: Avoid the Sugar Rush
Having too much sugar in your child's diet would spell disaster as they grow up. Pediatrician Roy Benaroch suggests that as a substitute for chocolate sandwich cookies; give your child whole-wheat graham crackers smothered with either peanut butter or almond butter. Rather than giving them candy bars, go for fresh fruits like apple, oranges and banana.

Cool Tip #4: Goodbye Sugary Drinks!
Ditch in the usual 12-ounce soda you would always pack in their lunch boxes. Aside from the fact that it contains over 150 calories, they are filled with artificial sweeteners and flavors too. Give them water or a homemade lemonade instead.

Cool Tip #5: Involve Your Child
A fun way to your child eat right is by involving them in the planning of their meal. Have their crayons ready and ask them to draw a picture of their dream lunch. This is also one way of encouraging them to eat the fruits and veggies that their body needs.
