Parents Share Mess Kids Make at Home

There are plenty of ways on how kids can make a mess of a home and they keep increasing. Numerous posts on social media have also indicated the unpredictable behavior among kids and the headache they cause their parents.

In a photo stream on Facebook, user Je Suis Lorrain compiled all the messy stuff that moms and dads share online. Some of the kids were seen playing with paint, destroying the television, disarranging the kitchen and playing with food.

One kid was even seen submerging a mobile phone on a toilet bowl while he smiles at the person taking his photo.Others are just simply unbelievable instances which cause parents money like a little girl who etched an "I love my dad" message on his father's car using a screwdriver.

Daily Mail said that these incidents usually happen when kids are left unattended even for a short moment. They can waste food or paint the entire house with different colors if parents are not attentive.

However, this kind of behavior in kids is said to be expected from them and that this is good for their development. University of Iowa researchers claimed that kids who make a mess learn better than tidy ones.

In addition, Huffington Post said that the study especially highlighted that kids who like to play with their food are fast learners. It noted that through making a mess, children are able to name the food and identify them using texture.

"When young children messily eat and explore food at each meal, they are learning both about individual foods and also about nonsolid substances more generally," read the conclusion of the paper as per the Huffington Post. "Children may be doing more than just making a mess in the moment: they are forever changing their attentional biases and the way they will learn over development."

It noted that sitting on a high chair also make kids messy. However, the University of Iowa pointed out that this also helps in their learning process.
