iPhone News & Update: Apple Planning to Release a 5.8-Inch OLED Screen iPhone in 2017? [Rumors]

There are rumors that Apple is about to unveil a 5.8-inch iPhone with OLED screen in 2017. However, known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the bigger iPhone model won't be released until 2019.

Digitimes, per Phone Arena, says that Apple will introduce the 5.8-Inch OLED screened iPhone in 2017 at the earliest. Hence, tech-savvy enthusiasts won't get to see a 5.8-Inch OLED screened iPhone, which could be the anticipated iPhone Pro, in the upcoming event of Apple this March.

The site also added that there are speculations that Samsung will be supplying the OLED panels that will be used in the bigger 5.8-inch iPhone. Alternatively, LG Display and Japan Display will be joining the hype of using OLED screen.

Samsung recently made noise when it nearly invested a whopping $7 billion to supply OLED screens for iPhones. This just fueled the rumors that Apple is eyeing the year 2018 to be the start of their official move to change every LCD display of their iPhones to OLED. However, Mac Rumors claims that the use of OLED screens could be moved to an earlier date in 2017. Digitimes believes that the first year of manufacturing OLED displays could produce a large output.

However, per the records, there are only about 200 million iPhones being sold in a year. According to Digitimes' supply chain sources, 50 million of the AMOLED-screened iPhones will be sold to the clients in its "first year of availability."

Meanwhile, in the much-awaited event of Apple this March 21, the tech giant is about to introduce its 4-inch iPhone dubbed as the Apple iPhone SE. In spite of being small, iPhone SE carries an A9 chipset with a 12-megapixel, rear-facing camera.

Also, Apple will unveil its 9.7-inch Apple iPad Prod, which is powered by an A9X chipset with 4 GB of RAM and quad speakers. Apple iPad Pro can also be equipped with Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard.
