'Iron Man 4' Cast & News Update: Robert Downey Jr Feels 'Captain America: Civil War' as His 'Little Iron Man 4'

Many Marvel superheroes have their own solo movies. However, nothing beats the popularity of Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man" series. The actor is superb in his performance for the franchise and many fans are hoping to see him in "Iron Man 4."

According to The Numbers, Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man 3" made it to the top 10 in the top 100 movies at the worldwide box office. No other Marvel superhero solo film surpasses it at the time. However, when the Avengers are taken together in one film they are more attractive to the crowd. Two Avengers film made it in the top 10 list, "The Avengers" in the fifth spot and "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" in the seventh spot.

There is no doubt that Downey Jr,'s charisma and influence catapulted the "Iron Man" franchise to its success. However, there are unending rumors suggesting that the actor will no longer be part of "Iron Man 4."

According to MStars News, Downey Jr. is too old to take the lead for "Iron Man 4." The actor also acknowledged the limitations that he may encounter due to his age.

In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, the actor said, "I also recognize that I'll be turning 50 by the time I promote this movie. The clock is ticking down on the amount of memories and participation that I would allow myself and not embarrass the medium with."

There are indeed high chances that "Iron Man 4" will continue without Downey Jr. However, the actor will wear his armored suit once again in "Captain America: Civil War" where he will be up against the titular superhero, Captain America.

Every "Iron Man" fan should watch this film because it might be the "Iron Man 4" that you are waiting from Downey Jr.

"In a way it's Cap 3 but for me it's like my little Iron Man 4 and then it's back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that's how it is until it changes. If it changes," Downey Jr. said per USA Today.

"Captain America: Civil War" hits theaters on May 6, 2016. Meanwhile, there are no official details about "Iron Man 4" at the time.
