Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge News & Updates: Samsung Galaxy S7's Camera Rivals the iPhone 6s

The new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagship phones are able to take much better pictures than last year's Galaxy S6 models. According to tech.firstpost.com, the new-generation Samsung Galaxy phones feature cameras that are at par and rivals Apple's iPhones 6s.

That is great news for the fans of the Android phones since they would no longer have to compromise on picture quality. Samsung's brand new Galaxy S7 comes with several camera upgrades. Even if the device only has a 12-megapixel sensor, Samsung made the pixels larger to allow the camera to capture more light. A wider f/1.2 aperture is also designed to let more light in. Both these improvements aim to make Samsung Galaxy S7's camera a formidable low-light shooter.

The camera on the Galaxy S7 also provides a better focus. Users do not need to choose a focus area by touching the smartphone screen because the camera will identify the focus on its own. Even with touching, you would not get a lag with the Galaxy S7 compared to the one- to two-second lag usually experienced in other mobile devices. This is useful since it will help you not to miss action shots.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 borrows some of the light-capturing and focus technologies found in more sophisticated SLR cameras, even if image sensors and the lens on the Samsung Galaxy S7 aren't large enough to match their capabilities. Due to these combined technologies, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is able to provide brighter, sharper images even in a low light environment.

Experts from CNET also tested the Samsung Galaxy S7's camera against its great rival, Apple's iPhone 6sPlus. The test images have been taken in full resolution and in automatic mode. The tech experts came to the same conclusion that the camera installed in the Samsung Galaxy S7 rivals the iPhone 6s Plus' camera in terms of performance.
