John Goodman Weight Loss: '10 Cloverfield Lane' Actor May Gain Back All The Weight

"10 Cloverfield Lane" star John Goodman gave an impressive weight loss testimony with his, give or take, 100-pound journey. However, John Goodman may gain back the weight he had worked to lose.

According to E! News, John Goodman joked that his new slimmed down figure may only be around temporarily. After receiving praise from NBC's Today co-host Savannah Guthrie over his new look, John Goodman laughed out a response saying that six months should bring back all the old weight again. As Today reports, John Goodman professes that in his experience, that is usually how long a weight change lasts for him.

Interestingly, John Goodman pointed out that he is not sure that 100 pounds is the accurate measure of his weight loss because he had not taken the time to weigh himself. John Goodman said, though, that he can now fit in better clothes and actually shop for more things.

The secret to weight loss for John Goodman is fairly simple. John Goodman shared that he stopped grazing (eating small amounts of food frequently) and chose more carefully the food that he ate. John Goodman explained that he used to eat all the time and usually ate unhealthy selections.

As opposed to his old dieting style where he would lose 60 to 70 pounds in three months and gain it all back quickly, John Goodman took his time while on this new weight loss trend. "I just wanted to change my lifestyle," Goodman said. "You look in the mirror everyday and go, 'I gotta deal with this the rest of the day, I gotta deal with this schmuck?'" He began eating smaller portions, exercised and avoided frequent, unhealthy snacking. John Goodman has been keeping this up for a year and a half now. Needless to say, this is his longest weight loss streak by far.

John Goodman displays the result of his weight loss efforts in the thriller "10 Cloverfield Lane." This latest production by JJ Abrams' Bad Robot takes a dark, creepy turn for John Goodman.
