iPhone 7 Release Date, News & Update: Where Is iPhone 7's Audio Jack? New Case Has No Headphone Jack

As iPhone 7 is expected to launch in September, tech-savvy enthusiasts are now anticipating the new features and design of the upcoming flagship phone. A French man named Steve Hemmerstoffer revealed a new phone case for iPhone 7 that fueled the rumors that new Apple phone doesn't have an audio jack.

According to CNET, the said iPhone 7 phone case was posted on Nowhereelse.fr by the French blogger. Aside from showing that it has no headphone jack, the pictures also strengthened the rumors that iPhone 7 has two built-in speakers.

The iPhone 7 phone case featured two big holes at the bottom part of the unit, which is assumed to be for the dual speakers. However, everyone was looking for a hole for the headphone jack, but there was no trace of it. The hole for the headphone jack is usually placed at the bottom of iPhone cases.

In a report by Mac Rumors, the outlet revealed that the iPhone 7 case also has the same "all-in-one Lightning connector" and side buttons placement like that of the iPhone 6s. Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 case also has an opening on the top back for the camera. The hole looks big enough to support the alleged "two camera lenses" of the upcoming iPhone 7. It has been said that iPhone 7 Plus will be equipped with a "dual-camera system" while the average iPhone 7 will only carry one camera.

Hence, the large hole on the back of the iPhone 7 phone case could only be for the single camera and its LED flash. Furthermore, iPhone 7's dual camera system might be built on the new Apple technology, which was obtained from LinX Imaging, while the iPhone 7 speakers were provided by Cirrus Logic.
