'Law and Order: SVU' Season 17 Air Date, Spoilers & Update: Olivia Benson's Career At Risk; Carisi Is Going Homeless and Undercover

"Law and Order: SVU" Season 17 will return in the small screens at the end of the month. The upcoming episodes are filled with surprises and excitement, so fans should watch out for it.

Per Christian Today, "Law & Order: SVU" Season 17 episode 18 will continue where the last episode left off. Thus, viewers can expect to see the team continuing their investigation about sex-trafficking involving the Catholic Church, the police department and some government officials.

Aside from this, what can fans expect in "Law & Order: SVU" Season 17?

The report noted that even though Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) was not involved in the problem, her job was at risk. She was forced to leave her work because of her relationship with Tucker.

Meanwhile, Captain Tucker (Robert John Burke) will be charged as the protector of the sex-trade ring. He allegedly covered the information about the illegal operation.

According to Inquisitr, it is understandable that Benson was taken out of command because the investigation involved her. Thus, somebody else will take over the "SVU" but this would only last until the investigation is complete.

Many fans were very disappointed after seeing Benson packing her desk that they threatened to stop watching the series.

However, Benson may eventually return to her job. Per the report it is unlikely for Mariska to leave "Law and Order: SVU" at the time because she is among the main cast.

Benson and Tucker are lucky to be working with a team who trust them. According to the synopsis from Spoilers Guide, the rest of the team will work hard to unravel the secrets of the operation and clear Tucker and Benson's name. Inquisitr noted that fans will see detective Sonny Carisi covering up as a homeless man to investigate. This will be featured in "Sheltered Outcast" episode.
