Kate Middleton News: Duchess Of Cambridge Angers PETA for Wearing Fur

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and Prince William went on a high-profile ski trip to the French Alps with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Unfortunately, one item worn by Kate Middleton caused distress among members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

According to Gossip Cop, Kate Middleton angered PETA by wearing fur gloves on her ski vacation with Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Kate Middleton, being one member of the royal family who has found a huge following outside of the royal circle, is under frequent public surveillance.

Clothing and design choices made by Kate Middleton are among the aspects in the Duchess of Cambridge's public persona that followers tend to watch closely. When Kensington Palace, therefore, made official photos of the royal family's trip available, the public homed onto the Alexski ski mittens that Kate Middleton wore.

The media outlet points out that the royal family, including Kate Middleton, have always taken the stance of protecting wildlife. Yet, Kate Middleton was seen wearing leather fully lined with real possum fur.

In an exclusive with Gossip Cop, PETA UK Director Mimi Bekhechi described how animals, such as those that gave their fur to the gloves worn by Kate Middleton, are trapped and killed. "Animals who are not killed outright by these devices can endure horrific injuries and languish for days before eventually dying of hunger, thirst or blood loss," Bekichi said. "Some trapped animals, especially mothers desperate to return to their young, chew through their limbs in a frantic attempt to escape."

Mimi Bekichi gave Kate Middleton the benefit of doubt prior to official confirmation that the gloves worn by the Duchess of Cambridge have genuine fur. Mimi Bekichi promised that PETA UK will be contacting Kate Middleton to initiate a conversation that propagates understanding on prevailing cruelty to animals and the alternatives available to prevent these. Mimi Bekichi pointed out that fashion and comfort no longer need to be sacrificed because of the modern options currently available that need not cause harm to wildlife.

E! News reports that despite this lapse by Kate Middleton and the issue with PETA, the efforts of the royal family to protect animals and the environment have not been diminished. Kate Middleton will have an opportunity to join the tireless effort and commitment that Prince William and Prince Charles have been putting into animal and environment protection.
