Why Women In India Are Forced To Get Pregnant At 10 Years Old

Somewhere in India right now, a ten-year-old girl is forced to have intercourse with another man and that action is even considered legal. There is a community in Delhi called Perna that allows inter-generational prostitution lead by a woman's husband. Their spouse acts as their pimp and they have no choice but to follow what their man wants to be done even when it involves rape.

In an article reported by the Pacific Standard, women in this community have been conditioned to accept that kind of fate in their lives the moment they made that vow in the altar. It doesn't matter if they are minors, once their parents tell them to get married, they will do it and they also automatically expect that their husbands will use them for prostitution.

According to Scoop Whoop, women in this community have already accepted the fact that they have to be out in the streets at 2am to sell their bodies to around five men a night. These women are avoiding the police while they are doing their nightly rounds because those cops would actually ask for free sex from them instead of saving them from that kind of lifestyle.

After they are done with their duties for the night, they would go home and feed their husbands breakfast along with their kids. They would have to do all house chores after that and finally get some rest and wait for 2am to do it all over again. They do it to put food on the table for their family.

Women in this community don't have a choice who they want to marry. If one of their immediate families told them to marry a specific guy, they do it and eventually pursue that kind of lifestyle. These women are used to it, especially when it has already become a culture and an accepted standard of living in their society.
