Kelly Rowland’s 'Alcoholic' Father Wants to Reunite With Daughter

Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child fame has separated from her father for some time now and he has now come out saying that he "prays" for the singer to come back into his life.

Christopher Lovett, 67, was separated from his future Destiny's Child when her mother Doris left him due to his explosive temper, according to AllHipHop. Lovett now spoke with Radar Online and admitted he left Rowland when she was 7-years-old.

"It wasn't physical between me and Kelly's mom, but there were many days and nights when Kelly would be bawling her eyes out, clutching my leg begging me, 'Please daddy stop shouting at mummy'. That image of her howling, begging me to stop will haunt me forever," he said.

Lovett, now a recovering alcoholic is realizing the importance of reuniting with his daughter and wants to have a relationship with her 'before it's too late.'

He told Star magazine: 'So many previous years have passed and I'm getting old.

Meanwhile, Rowland has spoken about her estranged relationship with her father and said she is not interested in reuniting with him.

"I do have a desire to speak to him," she said in a 2011 interview. "But I have to be ready when I make that decision, and I don't want to hurry myself. I've been without him for more than 20 years."
