Stephen Amell Releases Sci-Fi Project Titled 'Code 8'

"Arrow” star Stephen Amell recently released a brief riveting teaser of a new project he currently works with his cousin, Robbie Amell. The cousins and Sung Kang have been working on a Sci-Fi film titled “Code 8."

The teaser reveals a Sci-Fi concept, where effects of mutants to the society were emphasized. As shortly described in the teaser, the 4 percent of the population who possess strange abilities are mostly blamed for all arrests. Gizmodo describes the trailer as a fusion of the best from "Chappie," "Almost Human" with a twist of "X-Men."

Screen Rant further reports that the Amell cousins have collaborated the “Code 8” project with Sung Kang ("Fast and the Furious"). "Code 8" stars Aaron Abrams ("Hannibal"), Chad Donella ("Taken 3") and Alfred Rubin Thompson ("Sons of Anarchy") along with Robbie and Kang. The film is helmed by Jeff Chan with a script penned by Chris Pare. Geoff Mclean and Tommy Dingwall will also produce alongside the Amell cousins.

An extended trailer is expected to be shown on March 22 to give more details on “Code 8” as promised on the film’s official Twitter account. “Code 8” official website features a countdown and an option to sign up for exclusive updates.

Screen Rant says that the cousins were both inspired by their collaboration with “Arrow” crossover episodes. Indeed, the trailer has offered a sense of intrigue while hinting of a sinister theme; a possibility that authorities over react to mutants and unjustly prosecute them despite of their innocence.

While there's no official description on the plot, there's going to be more announcements soon. For now, check out the trailer for “Code 8” below.
