'Arrow' Season 4 Air Date, News & Update: CW Renews 'Arrow' for Season 5

CW head Mark Pedowitz recently announced the renewal of their 11 hit television shows and one of them is "Arrow." The fifth season of "Arrow," together with other superhero shows, will feature surprise comebacks and unexpected departures.

Mark Pedowitz said that CW has been known for having the "most critically-acclaimed" programs on television. The television network has a different selection of shows -- from musical, comedy, superhero adaptations and realistic sci-fi dramas, according to Enstarz.

"As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016-2017 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017," Mark Pedowitz added.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, on the other hand, teases what fans should expect for CW's superhero shows. According to the executive, "The Flash," which is renewed for Season 3, "Arrow," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 will surprise fans with returns and exits, Entertainment Weekly adds. Other programs that have been revamped by CW are "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, "The Originals" Season 4, "iZombie" Season 3, "Supernatural" Season 12, "The 100" Season 4, "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2.

Even the American historical fantasy romance television series, "Reign," will be back for Season 4, but not with the whole original cast, TV Line notes. Meanwhile, the date of "Arrow" Season 4 finale is already revealed and will follow CW's original plan, per Enstarz.

To recall, everyone assumes that "Arrow" Season 4 will end on May 11, but CW recently announced that "Arrow" Season 4 will be completed on May 25. It has been said that setback is because of "Arrow's" quick break. "Arrow" Season 4 will be back on March 23 with "Broken Hearts" episode.
