‘Person of Interest’ Season 5 Premieres this May? Netflix to Pick Up Sci-Fi Drama after CBS Cancellation?

Fans and viewers are still awaiting updates regarding "Person of Interest" Season 5 premiere after CBS decided to push its release at a later date. While spoilers claim that the sci-fi drama will be airing this May, rumors are rife that the show may not be on its series finale, as Netflix is reportedly keen on renewing the series for another season.

"Person of Interest" Season 5 is rumored to be its series finale, as several signs hinted on the show's cancellation on CBS. The sci-fi drama, which ran on an average of 22 episodes, was reduced to a 13-episode count. Aside from this, the network delayed the release of the series and announced that the show will premiere this spring.

While CBS has not yet officially announced the release date for "POI" Season 5, TVLine reported on the possibility that the show will premiere in late May. The publication, however, stated that the network has not yet given any hints about the show's release, and therefore, everything still remains a speculation.

Meanwhile, Lawyer Herald reported that while "Person of Interest" Season 5 is on the brink of cancellation on CBS, the show may still live on in another network.

Thousands of fans have already petitioned to save "POI" from cancellation. The petition also aims to attract the attention of other networks such as Netflix.

Netflix has previously picked up series, which have been cancelled in other networks, for additional seasons. "Longmire" is a great example of this and "Person of Interest" fans are hoping that the network will hear their plea.

CBS Network head Nina Tassler, however, revealed in an earlier interview that the "Person of Interest" Season 5 rumored cancellation is yet to be determined.

"The show's in production now and will be coming on later this season, but we haven't determined if it's the end of the series yet," she said.
