'Iron Man 4' News Update: Robert Downey Jr. Doubts About the Next 'Iron Man' Film: 'I don’t think that’s in the cards.'

Most, if not all, are anticipating for the next "Iron Man" film. Earlier reports suggest that Robert Downey Jr. will not be taking the lead for "Iron Man 4" but the big question is, will there be "Iron Man 4?"

Downey Jr. Confirms "Iron Man 4"

Parent Herald previously reported that "Iron Man 4" is confirmed as what Downey Jr. said in an interview with Ellen. The host asked the popular actor if there will be "Iron Man 4" and he explained that Marvel is exploring on the different ideas to do the film in the best way possible. He added that they are in the middle of a negotiation.

When Ellen prompted Downey Jr. for a yes about "Iron Man 4's" possibility, he said, "Okay, yes."

No More "Iron Man 4"

Unfortunately, for Marvel fans who are hoping to witness the next solo adventure of the self-proclaimed genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist superhero, "Iron Man 4" is still not confirmed.

The "Iron Man" lead star gave a new statement when asked about "Iron Man 4" which will likely disappoint or disheartened his fans. "I don't think that's in the cards," Downey Jr. told USA Today about the making of "Iron Man 4."

In fact, Downey Jr. feels that his upcoming film "Captain America: Civil War" is his little "Iron Man 4."

"In a way it's Cap 3 but for me it's like my little Iron Man 4 and then it's back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that's how it is until it changes. If it changes," he explained.

Downey Jr. will still wear his armored suit in the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" films, which is set for 2018 and 2019 releases per Tech Insider. For "Iron Man" fans, you can see your favorite superhero in "Captain America: Civil War" which will air on May 6.
