Nintendo NX Update: 'Luigi's Mansion 3' To Launch With New Console With AR Capability? [Rumors]

The newest Nintendo console, the Nintendo NX, is in the midst of development and along with this, the tech company is also set to release games in time for the device's launch. The latest buzz is that Nintendo intends to add "Luigi's Mansion 3" in its NX game library, along with a new "Legend of Zelda" series and "Star Wars Battlefront."

Rumors about "Luigi's Mansion 3" surfaced from a source named Geno, who also previously leaked information regarding other titles releases. "Luigi's Mansion 3 is planned to be Nintendo's impressive visual launch title," the source said, per Dual Pixels. "When the team at Next Level and EAD Tokyo 2 saw the American commercial for Luigi's Mansion 2 (aka Dark Moon) their goal was to create something that visually stunning for NX and according to sources they have come "damn close to it," he added.

Geno further stated that gamers should expect "Luigi's Mansion 3" to look like a "3D Cartoon movie" that will come with elaborate details. To make it more interesting, the game will also be featured with an AR (augmented reality) mode for multiplayers. It should happen when the "final version" is released.

It should be noted that there have been little details about the Nintendo NX since it has been rumored as being developed in 2015. Its released date has not even been confirmed by the gaming company, but this latest news seems to suggest that the console will have the capacity to support augmented reality. This technology allows for the integration of real time environment into a computer environment, per Augment. It's highly advanced and technically ambitious.

Per Tech Times, Nintendo is expected to make an official announcement about the Nintendo NX and the games in the next few months, which should hopefully address all the rumors. But while that isn't happening, take the buzz with a grain of salt and caution as there will be more to come from eager gaming fans.
