Kids Give Weird Reactions After Parents Announce Disney World Trip

A Disney World visit surprise could not have gotten any better especially if you are revealing it to a group of kids. But this was not the case for 8-year-old Pete Johnson.

The young boy cried when his parents Mark and Holly announced that they will be spending a week in Disney, Orlando. "We're spending the week in Disney!" said Pete's mom in the video below.

His 15-year-old brother, Sam, and sister Ava, 14, were thrilled with the news. However, Pete was emotional with the surprise, not because he loved the idea but because he really wanted to go to their hometown Murfreesboro in Tennessee, Inside Edition reported.

Sam, 15, looks skeptical and Ava, 14, asks questions, but suddenly, Pete, 8, is seen in a video (below) suddenly bawling into his hands. "Mom, I wanted to go to Murfreesboro," Pete repeatedly told his mother while he sobbed and yelled at the camera. He even asked his parents if they were joking.

"Holly and I had a conversation before, and I told her, 'We need to be prepared for a weird reaction, especially from Pete,'" said Mark. "He didn't really know anything about Disney World, and he's got a place in his heart for Murfreesboro."

The father said they hoped their kids would scream, cry or hug them but none of these reactions happened. "It makes me a little sad to be honest. I think if they had a little more context, they would freak out," he added.

Mom Stacy-Ann Gooden said in a BabyCenter blog that Pete's reaction was one of the funniest she has seen when it comes to a Disney surprise. "My husband and I plan on taking the kids some day. But as Mark states in his blog, it's probably best to wait until they're a little older," she added.

Mark told Inside Edition that they enjoyed five days of vacation in Disney World with their three kids. He, however, claimed that they discovered that Pete was not enjoying the rides based from their photos.
