"Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" won't be navigating its way to theaters until next year. But fans are already eager to know the latest updates about Disney's upcoming nautical film.

"Pirates" franchise original cast members Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom will be leading the cast as they reprise their roles as Captain Jack Sparrow and William Turner in "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales." But new cast members are also set to appear in the upcoming sequel.

While there have been scarce updates about "Pirates of the Caribbean 5," movie director Joachim Ronning has recently been dropping hints on Instagram about the latest happenings about the film. In fact, his latest posts suggested that the sequel is currently in post-production.

1. A Main Character's Death

There are so many rumors surrounding "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales. And while there are no confirmations yet, Crossmap revealed that fans might see one main character's demise in the upcoming movie sequel. But since it's the "Pirates" franchise, no one will definitely stay dead for good.

2. Two Captain's Ultimate Battle

In "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales," fans will see Captain Jack Sparrow's battle against Captain Salazar, who is played by Spanish actor and Penelope Cruz's husband, Javier Bardem. As Jobs & Hire reported, Sparrow will try to stop Salazar in his quest to kill every living pirate.

"When the villainous Captain Salazar and his army of deadly ghost pirates and threaten to kill every living pirate, Jack Sparrow must go on an adventure to find the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that gives its possessor complete control over the seas," the film's synopsis read, according to International Business Times.

3. "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" New Cast Members

Aside from Depp and Bloom, the upcoming sequel will also feature newcomers Brenton Thwaites as Will Turner's son Henry and Kaya Scodelario as astronomer Carina Smyth, Ecumenical News noted. Geoffrey Rush, on the other hand, will reprise his role as Captain Hector Barbossa.

Meanwhile, "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will have an earlier release date on May 26, 2017 or Memorial Day Weekend instead of its original schedule on Jul. 7 of the same year.
