'Fast and Furious 8' Release Date & Cast: Paul Walker's Character Returns; Learn About the New Cars in the Film

The last film for the "Fast and Furious" franchise was emotional and heartbreaking. The untimely demise of Paul Walker made the production more challenging by finishing it without killing the character. Will Brian O'Connor still be part of "Fast and Furious 8?"

Parent Herald previously reported that Walker's character would no longer be part of "Fast and Furious 8." According to Neal H. Mortiz, Walker's character has moved on but they still have lots of characters to mine.

"We're lucky that we have a lot of great characters. Unfortunately, we don't have Paul anymore. His character... has moved on. But we feel like there's a lot still to be mined. That's where we're starting. We're really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It's a huge challenge," Mortiz said in an interview with ScreenRant.

As we near "Fast and Furious 8's" release date, the talks about Walker's involvement in the upcoming film remains unsettled. In a new report from BreatheCast, it noted that most of the cast including Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson would reprise their role in "Fast and Furious 8." But apart from these two, Cody Walker will also return to play as O'Conner.

Meanwhile, for those wondering what cars will be featured in the film, Jalopnik reported that "Fast and Furious 8" will include Lamborghini Murciélagos, Subaru Imprezas and one Rally Fighter.

Per the report, fans would also see military green armored trucks and snorkels, a golf cart and more in "Fast and Furious 8." The report stressed that Subaru is not new in the "Fast and Furious" franchise. In fact, they donated seven Imprezas for "Fast and Furious 7."

"Fast and Furious 8" will hit the big screens on April 14, 2017.
