'Star Wars 8' Cast News & Updates: Disney Seeking Young Han Solo, Dubrovnik Set Photos Leaked

Disney and Lucasfilm have long been searching for an actor to portray a younger Han Solo for the upcoming "Star Wars Episode VIII." According to reports, the creators behind the 2017 "Star Wars" sequel have narrowed down their choices to Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor and Taron Egerton.

Multiple sources have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the production companies have conducted tests in London for three actors. Among those who participated in the tests last week are Alden Ehrenreich of "Hail, Caesar!," Jack Reynor of "Transformers: Age of Extinction" and Taron Egerton of "The Kingsman" and "Eddie the Eagle."

Sources also mentioned that other famous names might well be included in the list. Although, that seems to be much more difficult to uncover due to the high confidentiality that surrounds the "Star Wars" films.

"Whiplash" star Miles Teller and "Fault in Our Stars" star Ansel Elgort - who are both in the "Divergent" movies as well - have been rumored to be part of the list of the 10 actors who have met and tested with the "Star Wars" directors.

The casting news update on "Star Wars" comes just a few weeks after director Rian Johnson begun filming "Star Wars Episode VIII." Even though most of the filming has been done away from the public eye, the "Star Wars Episode VIII" production has moved to a different location.

According to Gizmodo, the production crew for "Star Wars Episode VIII" were spotted filming in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Thanks to on-location filming, fans are able to get a glimpse at new aliens and ships.

However, plot details for "Star Wars Episode VIII" have been kept tightly under wraps that fans are left to speculate on who these news aliens could be. Check out some of the set photos in the tweets below!

Stay tuned for more updates on "Star Wars Episode VIII." The latest "Star Wars" sequel is slated for release sometime in 2017.
